This book had been 'calling' to me for some time and when I was given an Amazon gift voucher that is what I bought with it. I have done the 'log-cabin-with-a-twist' before, but seeing how she made them in such differing shapes such as triangles is fantastic. I love it. Reading the way it is done opens up a whole new quilting experience. That quilt on the front now seems do-able and I will try it. Well done Ms Merrill and thanks from 'down under' Sydney Australia.
Absolutely amazing quilts. The instructions on how to draw your own patterns are extremely valuable to those who wish to create their own one-of-a-kind quilts.[.].All in all, an excellent book to add to an imaginative quilter's library.
The product arrived very quickly and in great condition. I would definely order thru this person again.
I think the publisher should have recalled all the books and reprinted them with the corrections, but know that would have been a financial disaster. Also be aware that if you want to make the eye-popping quilt on the cover, the pattern is NOT included in the book. Gorgeous book with numerous pictures and instructions for a huge variety of stunning quilts, but be forewarned that there is an absolutely shocking number of errors. Again, resorting to the author's web site, she explains that she does not own the rights to that particular quilt. I went to the author's blog and printed out the errata -- over 10 pages worth as a Word document. For a book in which the patterns rely on precision and very careful measuring, cutting, and sewing, I could not believe it. I never like it when a QUILT is shown on the cover of a QUILT PATTERN BOOK and then directions to make it aren't included.Complaints aside, I do think this book will be useful, once I spend an hour or so amending it with the errata. The enclosed CD of templates is a great bonus, and thankfully you don't have to own EQ software to use them.
The information is so thorough and clear - it discusses color choices and design choices, and gives you plenty of examples so that you picture everything. This quilt book is simply amazing. Finally, a book for the more advanced quilter that has the best of both worlds: instructions that allow you to design original, creative, artistic, beautiful quilts; and gallery examples that inspire you, over and over. And the gallery is filled with gorgeous art quilts that you will want to emulate. I am blown away by this book - it is leaps and bounds above any quilt book in my library.
